Hip Hop
James began dancing in high school by imitating the moves of his favorite dancers. After graduation he was a founding member of INT Dance Squad at the University of Hawaii at Hilo where he taught classes as a choreographer for over 6 years. He joined Center Stage Dance Alliance in 2017 and began teaching popping in 2018. Aside from teaching at Center Stage, he also teaches hip hop at EB de Silva Elementary School.
Before class
What to wear & bring.
Attire
Sneakers and comfortable clothing recommended.
Arrival
Sign in at the front desk with first and last name. Enter the dance floor with clean shoes or bare feet.
Floor policy
Only clean dance shoes or bare feet on the floor. No zippers or metal hardware on clothing.
Bring
A filled water bottle.
Observers
‘Ohana welcome to watch — please keep it to 1–2 people per dancer and conversations quiet.

Can’t make it to class?
Class credits
Fill out the class credit request form and submit before the end of the day of the missed class. Processing fees may apply for refunds.
