What to expect.
New to Center Stage? Here's everything you need for your first class.
Arrival
Sign in at the front desk with first and last name. Wait quietly for class to begin. Enter the dance floor with clean shoes or bare feet.
New to the studio? Please check in verbally at the front desk when you arrive. We're happy to answer any questions.
Attire
Ballet: leotard or fitted tank with leggings or tights, ballet slippers, hair secured.
Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop: comfortable clothing you can move and stretch in. Jazz/contemporary go barefoot or in jazz shoes; hip hop in clean indoor sneakers.
Tap: tap shoes are for the studio only. Do not wear them on the asphalt before or after class — it ruins the taps and the dance floor. Bring tap shoes in a bag and change at the studio.
Floor policy
Only clean dance shoes or bare feet on the floor. Check for rocks and debris. No zippers or metal hardware on clothing.
Water bottle
Bring a filled water bottle to stay hydrated.
Watching class
‘Ohana are welcome to watch — please limit observers to one or two people due to limited space. Mahalo for keeping conversations quiet to help dancers and instructors focus.
What our community says
Teens, adults, first-timers, regulars — what keeps them in the room.
You can't keep me away.
We love how diverse the classes are and that they span age ranges. Instructors are super positive. Also love that it is not a competitive environment and that people support each other.
Ready to move?
No pressure to commit — pre-register online any time. Performance is optional, but if you commit to the showcase, we ask for consistent attendance through the session.
