Jazz I

Jazz is a dance style that combines elements of ballet, modern, and African-based movement, focusing on rhythm, isolations, and expressive, dynamic movement. In Jazz I, students are introduced to the fundamentals of jazz dance, including basic steps, rhythm, and body isolations. This beginner-level class focuses on building coordination, strength, and musicality through warm-ups, simple combinations, and fun choreography. This class is a great starting point for young dancers who want to learn a dynamic and engaging style of dance.
Kassidy Wilson
Ballet
Kassidy Wilson started her dance journey at Island Dance Academy studying primarily classical ballet, tap, and jazz since 2005 and has taught various levels of ballet, including pointe classes, since 2019. She joined Center Stage as a student in 2021 and expanded her performance repertoire with the styles of contemporary, hip hop, and breaking. Kassidy has performed and choreographed under various companies including Center Stage, Island Dance Academy, University of Hawai'i at Hilo, HEART, Hilo Community Players, and Mālama Arts Productions.
